ABOUT THE FREAKS!

Mike Bryant

This bio is supposed to be the place I let you know who I am. Well here it goes, I am passionate about movies, tv, people and life in general.  As the creator of the DC Film Life podcast I get the chance to live out these passions with every episode. I am a southerner by birth and a Marylander by trade. Currently a Charleston, SC local, I gained my love for tv at a very early age. My pops and I used to watch popular 80’s shows like The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard, Airwolf, Knight Rider and The Greatest American Hero. I recently found out that I am more of a nerd than I realized and have become obsessed with comic books. Ever since i was a kid my favorite comic book character has been the Green Lantern. If  you ask me the greatest piece of film EVER made  is Bad Boys starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith aka my man crush. WE RIDE TOGETHER, WE DIE TOGETHER BAD BOYS FOR LIFE!!
Charles Kirkland Jr.
Charles Kirkland Jr. is a Christian and member of the Publicity Committee of the Washington, DC Film Society.  As a part-time movie critic, he has been published on the website of the Film Society and various local print media outlets.  Known for his “Kirkland Classic”, he is a family friendly focused critic who acquired his love of cinema from watching a wide variety of films with his mother from an early age in life.  From silent, black and white pieces to the 3D tour-de-forces, Charles has a wide range of knowledge and experience with movies and is eager to share.  Over the last two years, Charles has enjoyed being a co-host of The DC Film Life where he has given his rare and eclectic view on all things movie and television related.

Isaac Horvat

Isaac Horvat was born and raised in rural Maryland. A love for tv and movies was quickly discovered thanks to classics like Old Yeller, Andy Griffith, and McGyver. Movies like Spider-man, The Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars were gateways to all things nerd and he hasn't looked back. His first review was written out of anger that the show Terra Nova had been cancelled and has been writing reviews since...And his opinion hasn't changed about Terra Nova. Isaac is also an amateur filmmaker and freelance videographer. If you want to see him ramble on for 15 minutes, ask him about his favorite movie. Isaac loves candlelight dinners, long walks on the beach, and making people laugh.

Kevin White

Also been into wrestling since the early days of stone cold Steve Austin in wwe. And I love all the transformers movies I don't care what anyone says they are good popcorn flix. I'm loving that technology has finally caught up with film making and that all these comic book movies and tv shows are being produced even tho a lot of the sourced material is 20+ years old,it's great to see things go from page to screen Follow me on Twitter and Instagram @m0t3kk

James Fields
I’m a city boy. Born and raised in Baltimore, Md. I grew up in the 80’s when music was great and movies and T. V were at an all-time “cheese level”, it was great!! Alex P. Keaton, taught me how to be a capitalist, while Kevin Arnold, showed me that even the nerdy girls could be hot, if I just looked closer. My favorite 80’s movie line is….”I don’t hate Balboa, but I Pity the fool!”  And my favorite TV show from the 80’s is The Incredible Hulk. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved going to the movies, it started when I saw Clash of the Titans at the Pikes, back in ’81.  I didn’t know it then, but that movie experience would shape my movie watching habits for years to come. Now, I love to go the movies every chance I get, which is often. I like to go by myself, not because I’m a loser and can’t find a date, just because it’s my sanctuary. To me there is nothing like spending a couple hours in a theater, immersing myself in the story of whatever movie I am watching at the time.  I know it sounds cheesy, but that’s the point. For my money, Lt. Colonel Frank Slade is the greatest character ever.  “If I were the man I was five years ago, I’d take a flame thrower to this place!”
